Punxsutawney Phil, the weather-predicting groundhog, may have seen his shadow and predicted 6 more weeks of winter but we're already gearing up for Spring here at New Beginnings Garden Center! We bet you're getting a little restless too with the ho-hum days of winter but Spring really is just around the corner. There have been reports of crocus and daffodils coming up in Minnesota already! That's a wee bit early for them to peek through the ground and they may not bloom because of their early emergence but it's still a sign that Spring isn't too far away. Here's an actual photo taken on January 31, 2017 near Mankato, MN. Go back to sleep, little daffodils! When to Plant IndoorsIf you're looking to get a jumpstart on your flower and vegetable gardening this year, starting seeds indoors is an easy and inexpensive way to get ahead of the game. Plus, you get to play in the dirt and we all know gardeners LOVE to do that! Here's a handy chart from the University of Minnesota Extension office to help you know when to start seeds indoors.
